Ukrainian Women in Art – Refugee Week Exhibition

Central Surrey Voluntary Action is proud to support Ukrainian Women in Art, a special exhibition organised as part of Refugee Week 2025.

This inspiring exhibition showcases the work of Ukrainian women artists and photographers who have resettled in the UK due to the war. Through a variety of mediums – including painting, photography, and mixed media – these talented women share powerful stories of displacement, resilience, identity, and hope.

Each artwork offers a window into the lived experience of Ukrainian refugee women, capturing both the pain of loss and the strength of rebuilding life in a new country. It is a moving celebration of female creativity, culture, and courage.

The exhibition has been organised by CSVA’s Ukrainian Support Team – Mariia Makarova and Iryna Atlasiuk – and is made possible with the generous support of Surrey County Council.

We warmly invite all members of the community to visit and engage with these powerful visual stories.

Exhibition Details:

Date: 14th – 20rd June 2025
Time: 9.00 AM – 5.00 PM daily
Venue: Bourne Hall
Address: Spring Street, Ewell, Surrey KT17 1UF

The Art Exhibition Opening Evening, held on 13th June 2025, was a truly special moment. It brought together community members, artists, and supporters for an inspiring celebration of creativity and resilience.

🎶 Guests enjoyed a moving live bandura performance – a traditional Ukrainian string instrument – and had the chance to speak directly with the exhibiting artists.
🥂 The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and shared appreciation for the power of art during times of crisis.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a memorable start to Refugee Week 2025!
