Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps voluntary, community and faith sector (VCFS) organisations make safer recruitment decisions of their employee and volunteers.  DBS is a vital tool to safeguard vulnerable adults and children for VCFS organisations.

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) was established in 2012 and carries out the functions previously undertaken by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).

DBS is responsible for:
