Testing

Every test helps stop the spread

Rapid lateral flow tests (LFDs) are a vital tool to help identify cases of COVID-19 we otherwise would not find. 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 show no symptoms and potentially spread it without knowing – LFDs help prevent the spread of infection, detect outbreaks and save lives.

LFDs are easy to use, accurate and give results in 30 minutes so people who test positive can self-isolate immediately and avoid passing on the virus to family, friends and colleagues.

From Fri 9 April everyone in England without symptoms will be able to regularly have a free rapid COVID-19 test twice a week.

People aged 16+ can get a free LFD test at a Surrey community testing site or participating pharmacy

You can either:

* Book Online

* Call 020 8865 1952 (Mon-Fri 08.30, Sat-Sun 09:00-17:00, local charges will apply)

* Collect a test kit for home use

You will receive your result by text/ email from NHS Test & Trace, usually within 30 minutes.

Some people may be able to access a test via their place of work or study.

Alternatively, you can order test online from the national programme to be posted to your home.

What to do if you have a positive LFD result

If the PCR test is negative, you and your household/ support bubble can stop self-isolating

Please check for the latest information on opening hours and eligibility before travelling to a test site – Surrey County Council’s testing website is updated regularly.
