We are looking for 3 volunteers to go out and about with a small group to visit different places in the local Surrey area. The adults we support have visual impairment and additional disabilities, they love to go out and explore, experience new things and meet new people.

Our new service CIAT (Community Inclusion and Activities Team) is taking on these new challenges and they would like volunteers to help them. The volunteers role would be to  guide, to support ,to encourage and explain the local environment. This is a rewarding and fun activities. Volunteers will be working with a member of the CIAT team.

On Monday mornings we would like a volunteer for a slow walking group to help them access the local areas and promote good health and build confidence and self- reliance.  

On Friday mornings we would like 2 volunteers to assist with farm visits and other activities. This would involve guiding and explaining local terrain and having fun. Training will be given on sighted guiding and safeguarding.

 

What skills do I need?

Good communication, patience, friendly, encouraging.

A DBS check will be required for the role, which SeeAbility will arrange
