During this time volunteers are currently working from home.
Elmbridge, Runnymede and Spelthorne Talking News is a voluntary organisation which provides a free service of local news to blind and visually impaired people, as well as others who have difficulty in reading.
Volunteers are needed to help with the weekly cycle of activities to produce and send out Talking Newspaper to their members. We are particularly in need of volunteers for Monday mornings and Friday afternoons.
Monday: The Movements Register Team records the address cards from returned pouches in the register. The following week's despatch cards and pouches are then prepared and individual records updated as appropriate.
Friday: The Copying Teams consisting of two or three volunteers produce the required number of recordings of the weekly News and the monthly magazine. These are inserted into the addressed pouches and put in mailbags for collection by Weybridge Post Office, who aim to deliver the pouches to listeners by first post on Saturday.
We are urgently looking for someone with administrative experience and fully IT competent. Training is given for all roles.
These administrative roles are on a Monday morning and Friday afternoon, however if you are unable to make these days there are lots of other roles available so why not register your interest and see how you might be able to help us.
