We have a wide variety of different roles available within Cobham District.
Adult volunteers have as much fun as the girls! We watch and help them develop into confident young women who are ready to take on the world.
The programme is wide and varied and volunteers will get out as much as they put in. There are units in Cobham, Oxshott and Stoke d'Abernon.
Adult volunteers are needed to help run the weekly meetings and deliver the Girlguiding programme. There are also behind-the-scenes roles such as administration and preparation of accounts which require less commitment and can be done at a time to suit the volunteer.
All volunteers will be required to follow Girlguiding UK's volunteer policy and may be required to undertake a DBS check.
No specific skills are required other than enthusiasm The Guiding programme is very varied and so what we do changes from week to week.
Volunteers and girls decide what they would like to do within the framework laid out by Girlguiding UK. Details of different roles can be found here https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/
The days/times required for different roles varies. All groups meet in the late afternoon/early evening. Days of the week the meetings take place can be changed depending on volunteer availability. Support roles can be done at a time to suit the individual.
