We are looking for a volunteer Assessor to work with disadvantaged young people, assessing applications for grants and providing support for individuals to access training and employment opportunities in Surrey

Applicants will ideally be located, or have access to, the Spelthorne borough, in order to meet with young people to access eligibility for a grant.  You will also be available to attend panel meetings to discuss applications.

The ability to complete reports and access to the internet is essential.  You will be able to relate to young people and empathise with their needs and aspirations, especially those who might be marginalised in society.

It is anticipated that the role will occupy approximately 1-2 days per month, spread across 2-3 days.

Training will be provided.

What skills do I need?

Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Ideally experience of working with young people is required, and understanding the particular requirements of working with disadvantaged young people.
