We are looking for a volunteer who enjoys stories and likes to chat about them, to go out with a small group to a local café to read and discuss the stories on a Thursday afternoon. This is a fun social activity for a new group which has been set up by the CIAT (Community Inclusion and Activities Team) who supports adults who have visual impairment and additional disabilities.
The volunteers role would be to guide, support and encourage social interaction to help develop knowledge and friendships.
This will be a rewarding and fun activity. Volunteers will be working with a member of the CIAT team.
Full training provided including Sighted Guiding and Safeguarding training
Good communication, patience, friendly, encouraging. A DBS will be required.
