How would you like to join a small local team of volunteers, part of a larger National Charity, our aim to help Servicemen, Veterans and their families?  Caseworkers provide friendly advice and support to eligible individuals.  The role involves meeting clients, often in their homes, assessing their needs and obtaining appropriate assistance.

You will initially accompany an experienced case worker and will then receive three days training at the charity's Central Office.  The whole structure is very supportive, with local meetings and a Surrey Annual study day. There are always others to refer to and Central Office has a group dedicated to Volunteer support.  At the end of a case you will be able to lookback and say to yourself "I did that".

The amounts of time you give is flexible, and can be tailored around other commitments.  All expenses are paid including travel.

What skills do I need?

An ability to talk with someone, listen, gather key points and present it in a simple report explaining the person's needs and why you feel they should be supported.

Comfortable using a computer, but you do not need to be a technical export.
