My Time for Young Carers runs youth clubs for young carers to give them time to be carefree.
Club helpers are the very people that makes this happen. Working with a session leader, volunteers help deliver fun activities for young carers aged between the ages of 7 and 16 years, such as games, sports, and arts and crafts. During the club we provide we also provide food, for juniors this is a meal, for seniors this will be light snacks.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own skills and interests to the group for the benefit of the members, plus their sense of fun!
Although experience of working with children is not necessary, a sense of fun and being able to listen and communicate well with young people are both vital.
An interest in sport, creative arts and activities that would appeal to young people would be really useful, or you may like to help us prepare a meal for the children.
All training in safeguarding children and food hygiene provided.
