We are looking for friendly, reliable individuals to help run a monthly social event for people we support. You could be helping serve refreshments, talking to people about help we can offer, or just lending a friendly ear to someone who is feeling lonely and socially isolated.
Our volunteers are an essential part of our organisation. We know from feedback how much social interaction is valued by those we support. Are you looking to develop your interpersonal skills and gain a better understanding of how to run successful community events? Could you spare some time each month to help us run social events for the people we support?
This role offers a flexible opportunity for you to volunteer around other commitments. Most community hub volunteers help us once a month for maximum of 3 hours in a hub local to them
No experience is necessary just a willingness to get involved, great communication skills and being willing to offer support to staff running the event.
Please be aware that due to the nature of the role, volunteers are required to have an enhanced check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Sight for Surrey would apply for this on your behalf at no cost to yourself.
