We’re looking for someone who is organised, calm and responsible who can support us by co-ordinating our distribution centre volunteer rotas.

We have a good-sized pool of dedicated volunteers available to ensure that our foodbank can open to welcome and support clients who visit us for emergency food parcels.

We would need you to commit to, on average, about 3-4 hours per week.

There are a combination of routine, seasonal and ad hoc volunteer co-ordination tasks which will be very manageable and of course fun for the right person.

Detailed information on the tasks involved in the role:
Routine
• Quarterly – draft the DC rota for the next three month period (Email the volunteers pool to check their non-availability. Allocate volunteers and session leads to sessions on the rota document. Email the rota out to the volunteers)
• Weekly – email the volunteer pool with a reminder of who’s covering the following coming week’s session
• Daily – morning and evening check on the dedicated volunteer email box primarily for any “drop outs” and to contact other volunteers to plug any gaps as required. (for weekly sessions perhaps about 6 per week - volunteer numbers are kept generous so we should never have a problem running a session. There will be additional periodic bursts when co-ordinating seasonal and ad hoc events)
Seasonal
• Pop Up events - three times a year (before the main school holidays)
• Co-ordinate volunteers to work at the event (email the volunteer pool who like to work at the pop ups (there is a list) to request their support and confirm the final arrangements.) Ad hoc
• Supermarket collection events - co-ordinate volunteers to work at the event (email the volunteer pool who like to work at the supermarket events (there is a list) to request their support and confirm the final arrangements.)

The Distribution Centre Volunteer Co-ordinator is an important member of the foodbank team - your time and skills will be greatly appreciated.
