The Wild Cats Drama Group is a mixed ability group which performs 2 productions a year, meeting on Wednesday afternoon to rehearse. We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in IT and proficient at putting together projections, sound effects on to Show Cue System. We would also like the volunteer to film our final production and to produce it into DVDs.

The adults we support at our Activity and Resource Centre in Leatherhead have visual impairment and additional disabilities. We work together as a team, as a drama production company not seeing disability but ability. It gives everyone the opportunity to perform, learn new skills, build up self confidence and self esteem and to take part in tailor made productions. Being visually impaired, sound effects really add atmosphere and context for the actors. Having DVDs of the plays they have been in means they are able to share their achievements with friends and family who live far away.

We are a very happy group and very welcoming. The filming is only for an hour twice a year, so it would not be a big time commitment but an enjoyable one.

What skills do I need?

Good IT skills. As we work with vulnerable adults a DBS would be required.
