We are a charity, inspiring people with disabilities and long-term health issues to discover their creative energy and build self confidence through art. Working at their own pace in supportive groups, our members find both relaxation and fresh stimulus, along with the opportunity to make new friends.

Your few hours a week could make a real difference to people's lives. The Dorking group leader has moved away from the area and some volunteers have stepped down due to other commitments. We are seeking a group leader replacement and volunteers willing to reopen and support our Conquest Art Dorking Group.

The group is usually held every Thursday except the 3rd Thursday of the month from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Dorking United Reformed Church. We planning to reopen the group in the next couple of months if we have the team of volunteers.

All our art groups need a team of volunteers, which have a variety of different gifts from organisational skills, artistic experience to someone dealing with the money or making the tea. But most of all we need your enthusiasm to help create a friendly welcoming environment where members feel relaxed and able to make the most of their time with us.
The helpers set up the room with art materials and clears away at the end of each session. During the group you can provide help, guidance, and artistic ideas if you can. The aim of the group is for an informal and collaborative environment in which to produce the best possible outcome for group members. Tea, coffee, biscuits, or cake are usually served during the session. Volunteers are the people who make Conquest Art possible.

Could you run and join the Dorking team?

Please contact us for more information to find out how our art groups are run and how you can be involved in the team. We also suggest you visit one of our existing groups to see what we are all about and if this is the role for you.
