We are looking for home-visiting volunteers to
provide practical help and emotional support for families in the local
community. Being a parent is hard for
everyone; for some it can be overwhelming. Some of us have a fantastic support
network of family and friends to help, some of us don't. With your knowledge
and experience of parenting, you could be the vital support a family needs and
make a difference to their lives. If you could give as little as 2/3 hours a
week to support a parent and their children we look forward to hearing from
you. Some of our families may be dealing with a variety of difficulties
including; post-natal depression, isolation, physical and mental health
problems, bereavement, financial worries or relationship difficulties.
Your role will be to support them in the way that they want; this may include practical tasks such as getting out of the house, getting to appointments or helping to get organised. It could also involve offering advice and sharing experiences; or supporting parents through emotional issues.
Join us and gain access to free, high quality training.
Learn new skills.
Enhance your wellbeing.
Make new friends and connect with your community.
Change the lives of families you support. Expenses paid.
We are looking for Mums, Dads, Grandparents or Carers to volunteer for us. The only real "qualification" you need is parenting or caring experience; commit to our training programme; undergo referencing and an enhanced criminal records check; understand that support provided to families is completely confidential; have a non-judgemental attitude and understand about the pressure of bringing up a family.
Our next course starts on Tuesday 14th January at our premises in Camberley (1 day per week, during term time and school hours only). Thereafter, volunteering 2/3 hours per week to suit.
