Thames Ditton Homes Ltd is a charitable organisation providing 15 sheltered housing units in an attractive setting in Thames Ditton.
We employ a full-time resident manager who lives on site. Our voluntary Management Committee shares overall responsibility for managing the company and individual committee members take a lead in areas that suit their interests and experience.
We are a friendly and supportive team, the work is light, varied and worthwhile.
The Committee oversees the maintenance of the site, with the aid of professional help, supports the Resident Manager to deliver the service, ensures that safety policies and practices are carried out and reports to the Regulator of Social Housing.
We are looking for a volunteer ‘trustee’ to join our Management Committee and take on the role of Honorary Secretary to assist the Chairman with organisation of the Management Committee, minute meetings and contribute to the general management of the organisation.
The commitment is for 8 – 10 meetings per year (some afternoons and some evenings) and to deliver actions associated with the role.
General organisation administration skills and ability to use Word, Excel and data management is essential.
A keenness to get involved and understand the operation of Thames Ditton Homes Ltd is required.
Applicants with experience of sheltered housing or similar, service delivery or HR skills would be particularly welcome, but such experience is certainly not essential.

TDHL has Management Committee meetings 4/5 times a year on a Monday evening. A further 4/5 sub committee meetings per year are held on weekday afternoons (dates agreed by members) All committee meetings are held in Thames Ditton. From time to time there will be a need to carry out some work outside of the committee. It will be helpful if volunteers live close to Thames Ditton.
