Did you know that the CHEER Parkinson’s group is the only local support group for Parkinson’s disease sufferers and their carers?
The group meets on Mondays in the Claygate Centre. They are a lovely group of people who chat and help each other with ideas and tips for living with the disease. There are exercise sessions to help with movement, a lunch and an afternoon session with an emphasis on using the voice and memory.
Volunteer with us and make a difference to a life………..your own
People with Parkinson’s can often feel alone and the group provides them with support and the opportunity to talk to others in a similar situation.
You could be greeting people when they arrive and making them feel welcome, or helping to serve tea, coffee and lunch. Most importantly you could be having fun with the participants and at the same time supporting them to help them live with Parkinson’s disease.
Volunteer with us and you could make a difference to someone with Parkinson’s.
