Outline, the Surrey based Sexuality and Gender Identity (LGBT+) support charity, is looking for dedicated individuals willing to offer their time to provide confidential support and guidance to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGB&T) people over the telephone or by email.
Out with discrimination in with acceptance and support is our guiding strap line.
Ideally you will identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual or Transgender or able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the issues faced by the LGBT+ communities, it’s the support you provide not the label that is important.
By volunteering for Outline you could be helping to improve the quality of life for people coming to terms with their sexual orientation or gender concerns, letting them know that they are not alone. Volunteering could enrich your own life potentially increasing your self-esteem and confidence, giving you new skills and experience which could be of use to you, in other aspects of your life or career.
You can now support someone struggling with their sexuality or gender identity from your own home. All you need is laptop, time and some training. Ideally you need to be confident working with emails and telephone, have good administration skills and the ability to use a computer confidently would be a distinct advantage.
Outline will look at all applications on their merits. We are interested in the skills you bring to Outline, your training will cover the details of sexuality and gender identity that you will need to know so a depth of knowledge is not required.
