If you enjoy working with children you could be a great role for you. Lively Rhymetime sessions aimed at pre-schoolers, along with their parents and carers are popular with young families in all our libraries. Rhymetimes involve singing nursery rhymes and action songs, occasionally with toys or percussion music. It is fun, interactive and noisy! Volunteers may be the leader or assistant. Duties involve setting up and tidying away the area, selecting the songs, making families welcome and either leading or assisting with the singing. Sessions are held weekly so a regular commitment of about an hour a week is required.

What skills do I need?

Enthusiasm and friendliness Happy, out-going personality A willingness to take part and join in the singing.
