This is an amazing opportunity to be part of Samaritans at one of the largest marathons in the world! Help Samaritans to make this the biggest and best event we can as Charity of the Year.


This is a unique and exciting opportunity for you play an important role in making people feel valued and supported when running for Samaritans. You’ll help us to be the loudest and the proudest along the course, whilst creating a memorable experience for our runners.

As a Cheerer, your role is to cheer on our amazing team of Samaritans runners, whooping, clapping and making as much noise as possible.


This role will enable you to; 

•            Support our amazing marathon runners

•            Represent Samaritans at the most iconic marathon in the world

•            Have a prime viewing point along the course

•            Engage with runners’ friends, family and other members of the public

What skills do I need?

No specific training is required, but we do ask that you are

•            Full of enthusiasm and energy!

•            Keen to give our runners a unique experience

•            A people person

•            Enjoy being part of a team

•            Comfortable being in a busy crowded environment

•            Reliable and punctual

Availability Details

Our cheerpoints will be based at the following locations: • Greenwich/Cutty Sark (mile 7) - 8:30am to 12noon • Tower Bridge (mile 12.5) - 10am to 3pm • Canary Wharf (mile 18.5) - 10:30am to 3:30pm • Limehouse ‘Rainbow Row’ (mile 21) - 11am to 5:30pm • Embankment (mile 25) - 11:30am to 7pm These timings are a rough estimation of what times we are looking for. If you can’t do the whole time at a location, we’d be grateful for any time you can offer. Please let us know when you apply what you can do.
