Epsom Primary and Nursery School is a vibrant and exciting part of the lives of local children and families.  We have around 500 pupils on roll, and were rated Good at our latest OFSTED ranking, and have a strong governing body and leadership team.

The purpose of a Governor is to contribute to the work of the Governing Body (GB) in raising standards of achievement for all pupils, working within an allocated budget. This involves providing a strategic view for the school, challenging constructively and ensuring accountability.

The responsibilities of a Governor include:  

We would welcome volunteers who have experience in management across any industry – what is important is that you can read and interpret reports and data, and ask questions in a supportive way to ensure the school is achieving its best.  All industries are relevant, be that in commerce, music, education, healthcare or the VCSE.   Intellectual curiosity and a passion for children achieving are essential.

Meetings take place once every half term, and can be attended virtually or in person.  We start them at 4, and try to end them within 2 to 2.5 hours.
