At My Time clubs, young carers between the ages of 8 and 12 enjoy their breaks from home responsibilities and worries.

Not all of them have eaten before club sessions and even those that have enjoyed mid-session snacks. My Time provides free food for about 16 young people from a selection that might include filled rolls, sandwiches, pizzas, sausages or jacket potatoes. We always have fruit available and, of course, drinks. Snack Bar volunteers prepare and serve the food and clear away afterwards.

There is a warm atmosphere at My Time where the wellbeing of the youngsters is central to all that we do.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for volunteers with very basic kitchen skills are required, but a friendly and approachable disposition is essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team. A food hygine qualification would be useful.
