Oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.

Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place.

Monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation.

Oversee the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits.

Undertake bookkeeping duties and ensure these are carried out in a timely manner.

Ensure proper records kept and effective financial procedures met including:  cheque/signatories/bank mandate

Petty Cash/floats available – 2 shows per year and 1 plant sale


What skills do I need?

Ability to communicate clearly.

Liaise with members/officers to ensure the financial viability of the organisation is met.

Draw attention to financial obligations and take a lead in interpreting financial data to members and officers.

Knowledge and experience of current and fundraising finance practice.

Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management

Knowledge and interest in gardening/horticulture desirable but not essential.
