Oxted Citizens Advice is looking for Trustees to help guide and lead the charity. As a Trustee you will be able to use your skills and experience and have a direct influence on the direction and activities of Oxted Citizens Advice. In particular, we are looking for people who have knowledge and experience of IT systems in an office environment (advisory/consultancy) and/or publicity (social media, public relations, campaigning, funding).
Oxted Citizens Advice is a small charity that provides information and advice to help people resolve their problems, including benefits, debt, employment, housing and so on. We provide free and independent advice to help people solve the difficulties they face, and improve the policies and practices that affect peoples’ lives. In 2019-20 the Oxted team helped 950 people.
Oxted is a member of the national Citizens Advice charity which means we have access to the services, resources and support provided by national Citizens Advice but as an independent charity, we’re responsible for running our own affairs within agreed standards.
To be successful as a Trustee you will need to:
be available to attend at least six evening meetings each year
actively participate in discussions that relate to the running of the organisation
act in the interests of Oxted Citizens Advice and that of its staff and clients
have the time between meetings to be prepared and have the information you need to make appropriate decisions alongside the other trustees
knowledge of Tandridge district would be an asset.
