Central Surrey Voluntary Action (CSVA) supports the voluntary, community and faith sector in Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell and Mole Valley.

We have over 400 organisations and provide them with information, advice, training, networking opportunities and provide a DBS service. 

We are looking for new Trustees to help us in the next steps of our development.

CSVA also runs a number of projects including ASPIRE, our supported volunteering project

How our Trustee Board support CSVA

·         Contributing to strategic direction, business planning and policy.

·         Ensuring CSVA applies its resources effectively, efficiently and economically.

·         Ensuring CSVA is financially stable, and its funds are properly invested.

·         On a personal level, implementing decisions taken at Board meetings.

·         Acting as ambassador for CSVA

·         Taking part in the recruitment of staff

CSVA is a Company Limited by Guarantee with charitable status and is administered by a Board of Trustee Directors.

The role of the Trustees includes ensuring good governance of CSVA, sound financial planning and management and working with the Chief Officer and staff to develop effective strategy and business plans for CSVA’s operations and services.

What skills do I need?

The CSVA Trustee Board look for a diverse board with a mix of skills, experience,and backgrounds.

Knowledge and Experience of the voluntary and community sector would be valuable. However, if your experience lies elsewhere, don’t let that stop you – we’d love to hear from you. These include experience in:

Marketing and social media,·        


Funding and fund-raising,·        

Health service provision, local government or social care. ·

Availability Details

Trustees meet about 4 or 5 times a year for formal Board meetings, with other sub-groups as required. Meetings can be morning or evening, depending on Trustee availability. We hold meetings in our offices when circumstances permit or we use Zoom or other video conferencing
