As Treasurer you would be comfortable with figures and you would manage, and report on, the Division’s money and money contributed by other charities to meet specific needs identified by the local Caseworkers.   You would work closely with the Divisional Secretary, he or she would seek your financial advice, and as you gained in experience you would expect to be involved in the detail of some cases.  It is a rewarding role which will provide you with an overview of SSAFA’s activities in Caterham and Tandridge.  

A military background is not essential, indeed commercial and business experience would be welcomed. 

You would work from home, the amount of time you give as Treasurer is flexible, and can be tailored around other commitments.  You will be a key part of the team and have the opportunity to meet and socialise with them.  

If you have some time to give and would like a rewarding role supporting those who have served our country to live with independence and dignity, being the local SSAFA Treasurer could be the opportunity for you.  It is also good fun. 


What skills do I need?

You do not have to be a financial expert, but you will need to comfortable with IT accounting systems and BACS payments.   

Full training on the SSAFA accounting system will be provided and support from experienced members of the team is always available.
