We are looking for volunteers who are willing to join our other volunteers in supporting our carers with a loved one suffering from dementia.  We are all volunteers at Dementia Carers Support.

Our three Drop in Clubs always start with tea/coffee and cake, nothing happens until this is over!

Giving a friendly ear to our carers whilst keeping an eye out for their loved one.  You may be asked to help our gentlemen with a game of pool (our version) or a floor game i.e. Boccia, Curling etc. setting up the chairs for them, getting equipment required and playing referee!  Then clearing away when finished.

The carer is always present in the room for any personal care.

What skills do I need?

No skills or qualifications required just a good ear and caring nature.  An understanding of dementia would be good but not essential.

Volunteer help is needed at a Weekend Saturday Lunch Club held every other month on a Saturday.
