Core to the Museum, is the collection. Its care, management and use helps us to tell the story of Egham's history. The role includes: Caring for the Museum's collection of artefacts, documents and photographs in line with Museum Accreditation Scheme standards.  Carrying out an audit and review of the collection

digesting the collections (photographs and scanning items).  Updating catalogue records (putting collection information onto the computer database).  Identifying opportunities to make collections more engaging and accessible to our visitors.  Managing public access to stored collections.

This is a voluntary role and no payment can be made, but we can offer you:

What skills do I need?

This role would interest you if you:

enjoy working in a small team

have a good sense of order and enjoy organising things

are interested in history and want to learn about the Museum

willing to learn new Museum sector skills and standards

can spare a few hours on a regular weekly basis.

Availability Details

Egham Museum is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 4.30pm and on Saturdays between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
