This is a practical/clerical volunteering role – nothing technical but for someone who would like help our 80 vision impaired listeners receive recorded material on memory sticks every week.
We seek a volunteer to visit the Post Office sorting office in Caterham, currently every other week, on Saturday mornings to collect the mail sack that holds the returned wallets from clients. The sack should then be taken to our Studio in Caterham Valley, emptied and the return labels reversed on the wallets and marked off in the Register. The Recording Team then use them the following Friday. The second sack, which has been filled by the Recording Team on the Friday evening and is waiting in the Studio, then needs to be taken to a Post Office for despatch.
We expect the time required on alternate Saturday mornings to be approx. 2 hours and it could be done by two volunteers, on a rota basis. Full instruction and guidance would be given and we are following Government Covid-19 guidance regulations.
Be physically fit. Able to follow instruction and be methodical. The sacks are bulky but not terribly heavy and not fragile. Nevertheless, a car would be required.
2 hours on a saturday (currently every other Saturday) - can be done with another volunteer
