Do you have an interest in local history and the local community and would be happy talking to the public and be sensitive to their needs?
If you wish to volunteer during the week - this is a great role for you!
You would usually work in pairs and provide a warm welcome to visitors; introduce the permanent and temporary exhibitions; help with general and research enquiries, sell merchandise from the new shop and encourage donations.
There are morning and afternoon sessions - if working in the afternoon - at the end of the day you may be involved in the closing building procedures.
No prior experience of volunteering in museums is necessary as full training will be given.
Shifts: Morning 9.45 - 1 pm, or Afternoon 1 pm - 4 pm With the ability to commit to at least one shift per month
